While rehearsing her debut as Jezibaba at the Munich opera in Martin Kusejs new production of Rusalka (Tomas Hanus, cond.; K. Opolais, Klaus Florian Vogt, G. Groissboeck)on octobre 23rd, Janina Baechle will perform Alban Bergs 4 Lieder op.2 at the Vienna Schoenberg Centre on Sept27th.

Janina Baechles second album "Was Liebe sei?" has been released on Marsyas. Accompanied by Charles Spencer this is the Vol 2 of a Liszt songs complete recording and after "Chansons Grises" her second album for Marsyas.(for more click "CD/DVD": Accompanied by Charles Spencer she sings "Chansons Grises" by R.Hahn, Lili Boulanger, Zemlinsky a.o.)On DVD she appeares in the recording of the Vienna State Opera Production of Moses and Aron(Daniele Gatti, Franz Grundheber, Thomas Moser) as "eine Kranke". The much acclaimed production of the Volksoper of "Evangelimann" with her moving Magdalena is on DVD with Cappriccio (Eschwé, Reinprecht,Baechle, Müller, Koch, Fink)

upcoming engagements

In addition to Jezibaba in the new production of Rusalka Janina Baechle also returns in Jan.2011 as Ortrud to Munich before giving her debut at the Paris Bastille opera in the titlerole of Bruno Mantovanis "Akhmatova" (worldpremiere march, 28 2011). She can be seen at the Vienna State opera as Santuzza (June 2011), and in later seasons as Herodias, Fricka and Brangaene. She will return to the Liceu in Barcelona as Gaea (Daphne) in July 2011 and in 2012 as Nurse in Frau ohne Schatten. Mahlers 2nd symphony she will sing with Leif Segerstam in Turku(Jan.2011) and later with the Graz Orchestra (May 2011), Mahlers Kindertotenlieder in Nancy and recitals in the Vienna Musikverein and at the Strauss Tage Garmisch Partenkirchen.
